I understand how horrifying

I understand how horrifying it seems to hear about the dreaded Colon Cancer, but the more informed you are about it the more you can do something to prevent or treat it. First things first, before you can understand Colon Cancer, it’s pertinent to throw some light on the Colon itself. What and where really is the Colon? Most of the time, the colon is incorrectly mentioned as part of the entire large intestine. Instead, the colon is really the large intestine. The Colon is about six feet long and moves solid waste along to the rectum. Along the way, it sucks up water and unsafe materials from the waste. Colon cancer is generally seen to start off from the mushroom-like polyps that take appearance in the colon, rectum and appendix. These polyps are, more often than not, benign (harmless), but can develop into cancer over time. Colonoscopy is key in the test and screening of Colon Cancer. More often than not, we give little thought to the suggestion that we may be setting ourselves up for colon cancer; but it could be likely. If you don’t drink an adequate amount of water, or eat the accurate foods, you could be filling up your colon with disease ridden excess waste and decaying fecal matter without even realizing it. In fact, most people don’t think about colon cancer until they either have it or someone they love has it. A vital lifestyle transformation that involves eating good diet and engaging in physical activities is one of the most helpful ways to avoid having this disease. You should note that eating foods that are low in fiber but are high in fat every day increases your risks of having colon cancer. Its also wise to always get into the habit of eating lots of fruits and vegetables as these contain lots of vitamins, fiber, minerals and antioxidants that can help fight against cancer. Also, cleansing of ones colon on a regular basis can help.
