Green home building expected to rise sharply.(News)

Interest in green home building is expected to increase by 30 percent this year among those in the industry on top of a 20 percent increase in 2005, a new survey shows.
Preliminary results of a survey conducted by McGraw-Hill Construction and the National Association of Home Builders predicts that residential green building will be worth $19 billion to $38 billion by 2010.

That compares with an estimated value of $7.4 billion last year, McGraw-Hill Construction reports.
“This study suggests a viable path for the home building community to educate the public about green building and deliver a california green construction product that responds to the needs of the buyer as never before,” said Ray Tonjes, a home builder in Austin, Texas, and chairman…
